Summer Dreams
The midnight of my life arrived,
I did not live, merely survived
Who would have thought that Fate should deem
To give this broken man a dream
Like blessed rain on desert soil
Her presence ended endless toil
From nights whose cold my soul once froze
A brightly burning bliss arose
But joys not meant for me it seems
For morning spells the end of dreams
And then one day I realized
Away from me this Dream, it flied
So though my heart could one day let
Another in, it won't forget
That, even if for just a while,
I held a Dream and made her smile
